On Wednesday, U.S. Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX-21) sat down with the founder of The Texan, Konni Burton, to discuss a wide range of issues at the state and federal level. Congressman Roy discussed the impact of our growing national debt, outlined his vision on healthcare, and provided details about the ongoing border crisis.

“It’s a travesty and it’s on our watch,” said Congressman Roy regarding the enforcement of immigration laws. “Right now, a third of these women and girls are being abused and raped on the travel up through Mexico because we’re sitting back and [congratulating] ourselves in the false name of ‘compassion’ that we’ve got open borders.”

In addition to his commentary on policy issues, Roy discussed personal topics including his battle with cancer, what life is like as a federal legislator, and his love for country music.
