Konni Burton is Founder and CEO of The Texan. Previously, she was a grassroots activist who worked on numerous campaigns for local, state and federal races. Konni then went on to run for office and was elected in 2014 to serve Tarrant County’s Senate District 10 in Austin. Her experience as a grassroots activist, elected official, and taxpaying citizen provides a unique and valuable perspective on the political landscape in Texas. McKenzie DiLullo serves as Senior Editor of The Texan. Previously, she worked as at the state capitol as a chief of staff during the 85th legislative session before moving to Fort Worth to manage Senator Konni Burton’s campaign. Jaden Heard is the Media and Marketing Manager of The Texan. He was born and raised in Auburn, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. In his free time, he is a street preacher, show host, and explorer of new places.

Brad Johnson is a senior reporter and managing editor for The Texan and an Ohio native who graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2017. He covers Texas politics along with a focus on fiscal and energy policy. Read Brad’s articles.

Holly Hansen is a reporter for The Texan living in Harris County. Her former column, “All In Perspective” ran in The Georgetown Advocate, Jarrell Star Ledger, and The Hill Country News, and she has contributed to a variety of Texas digital media outlets. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida with a degree in History, and in addition to writing about politics and policy, also writes about faith and culture. Kim Roberts is a reporter for The Texan in the DFW metroplex area where she has lived for over 20 years. She has a Juris Doctor from Baylor University Law School and a Bachelor’s in government from Angelo State University. Rob Laucius is the Assistant Editor of The Texan. He graduated summa cum laude from Hillsdale College in 2022 with his Bachelor’s in History, and has interned for the U.S. House of Representatives and Department of Veterans Affairs. Matt Stringer covers government, politics, and public policy for The Texan. He is pursuing his Juris Doctor at Oklahoma City University School of Law and holds degrees in Paralegal Studies and Management and Leadership from Odessa College. Cameron Abrams is a reporter for The Texan. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Tabor College and a Master’s Degree from University of the Pacific, Cameron is finishing his doctoral studies where his research focuses on the postmodern philosophical influences in education. Mary Elise Cosgray is a reporter for The Texan, residing in Southeast Texas. She was born and raised on a small ranch west of Houston, hopping from East-Central Texas to a temporary stay in Washington, D.C. where she worked as a journalist.
